Responsibilities:

• Diagnose electrical faults and respond to breakdowns on underground equipment and machinery.
• Replace damaged or faulty electrical components and restore equipment to operational condition.
• Perform inspections, testing, and verification procedures to ensure successful repairs.
• Execute routine, preventive, and planned maintenance activities according to maintenance schedules.
• Assist in developing and maintaining maintenance schedules for electrical systems and equipment.
• Assemble, install, and maintain electrical and electronic systems.
• Carry out high-voltage electrical tasks associated with underground operations and project work.
• Coordinate with operational stakeholders to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
• Maintain tools, testing equipment, and machinery in good working condition.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards, regulations, and legislative requirements.
• Complete maintenance records, reports, and documentation accurately and within required timelines.

Qualifications:

• Form IV Certificate.
• High Voltage Training Certificate.
• VETA Trade Test Grade One in Electrical or Level Three Industrial Electricity Certificate.
• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering is an added advantage.
• Valid Tanzanian Driving License with proven driving competency.

Experience:

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working on underground mining equipment.
• Practical experience in high-voltage switching operations.
• Previous experience working on underground high-voltage electrical equipment and installations.
• Experience in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair within mining or industrial environments.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems and equipment.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools for electrical fault finding.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and circuit diagrams.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring, installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Strong manual and technical skills for conducting repairs and testing activities.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Advanced understanding of PLC systems and electrical control systems.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to assume supervisory responsibilities when required.
