Yas Tanzania is seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled IT Capacity Planning Manager to oversee capacity management and resource optimization across its IT infrastructure environment. Working closely with infrastructure, application, database, and operations teams, the IT Capacity Planning Manager will play a key role in supporting business growth through proactive planning and efficient resource management.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, analyze, and report utilization trends across the IT environment, including servers, storage systems, databases, backup systems, networks, software licenses, load balancers, and cloud resources.
- Identify potential resource constraints and capacity risks before they impact business operations.
- Forecast IT resource requirements based on historical trends, business growth projections, and operational demands.
- Develop and maintain capacity plans for servers, storage, cloud infrastructure, databases, and related technology resources.
- Recommend infrastructure upgrades, scaling strategies, and optimization initiatives to support business requirements.
- Collaborate with system administrators, database administrators, application support teams, and infrastructure teams to optimize resource utilization.
- Ensure workloads are properly balanced across servers and systems to maximize performance and availability.
- Conduct performance analysis and provide recommendations to improve system efficiency and reliability.
- Support strategic infrastructure planning and technology investment decisions.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and capacity management documentation for management review.
- Monitor infrastructure performance metrics and ensure compliance with service level objectives.
- Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience planning activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and system performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in IT Infrastructure, IT Operations, Capacity Planning, or a related technical environment.
- Practical experience with server and storage hardware technologies and related infrastructure components.
- Experience working with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, and OpenStack.
- Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring and capacity planning tools such as Nagios, SolarWinds, BMC, Splunk, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of database technologies and application performance monitoring metrics.
- Strong technical knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure and core business applications.
- Strong analytical, forecasting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret performance data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and technology-driven environment.
