Job Description
DHL is seeking an experienced and results-driven Finance Manager to lead and oversee financial operations, reporting, compliance, and strategic finance initiatives within the organization. As a key business partner to senior management and the local CFO, the Finance Manager will provide strategic financial insights, drive process improvements, lead finance teams, and support the implementation of automation and digitization initiatives that enhance organizational performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and support the implementation of finance strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure all financial reporting submissions are accurate, compliant, and delivered within corporate deadlines in accordance with IFRS, Deutsche Post DHL policies, and internal guidelines.
- Coordinate weekly, monthly, and year-end financial closing activities.
- Manage accrual processes to ensure accurate recognition of contractual and operational expenses.
- Maintain balance sheet integrity through effective management of accounts, sub-ledgers, and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with statutory filings, tax obligations, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Manage working capital performance, including receivables, collections, provisions, and bad debt exposure.
- Serve as the primary finance contact and advisor for the local CFO and business leaders.
- Design and implement credit management, collections, and accounts receivable processes.
- Collaborate with operational and functional teams to improve financial performance and process efficiency.
- Manage relationships and service level agreements with collection agencies, legal firms, and other service providers.
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop finance team members to achieve departmental objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN methodologies and best practices.
- Support automation and digitization projects within finance operations.
- Review operational costs and financial performance metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial governance standards.
- Conduct detailed balance sheet and profit and loss analyses to support decision-making.
- Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain finance policies, procedures, documentation, and contingency plans.
- Ensure compliance with data retention and record-keeping requirements.
- Contribute to planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy development.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of finance strategy development and implementation.
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS, accounting standards, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, financial accounting, and month-end closing processes.
- Strong expertise in balance sheet management, reconciliations, and general ledger controls.
- Knowledge of tax compliance, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing internal and external audits.
- Strong working capital management skills, including receivables and cash flow optimization.
- Expertise in credit management, collections, and accounts receivable processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering capabilities.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies such as LEAN and continuous improvement frameworks.
