Position Overview
The Tradesperson 1 – Welder is a skilled technical role responsible for carrying out welding and metal fabrication work on mining equipment and plant machinery. The main goal is to ensure equipment is repaired, maintained, and returned to operation safely while meeting quality and safety standards. This position supports the Asset Management & Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) department in maintaining reliable mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints before starting work.
- Measure, cut, shape, and prepare metal materials according to specifications.

- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets required tolerances and quality standards.

Required Qualifications
- VETA Trade Test Certificate Grade One in Welding or equivalent qualification.
