Job Description

AB InBev Africa is seeking an experienced and highly skilled ZEC Operations Manager to lead the establishment and operational coordination of the Zone Engineering Center (ZEC). This role focuses on driving engineering innovation, reverse engineering capabilities, and manufacturing support services that improve efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and enhance engineering performance across the zone.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the startup of the ZEC, managing engineering projects, overseeing procurement of advanced equipment, and developing systems that support fabrication, design, and technical problem-solving. Working closely with breweries, suppliers, and regional engineering teams, the ZEC Operations Manager will play a critical role in delivering cost savings, improving engineering capabilities, and supporting technical excellence across multiple sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the establishment and startup of the Zone Engineering Center (ZEC), including facility setup and equipment procurement.
  • Manage acquisition and implementation of advanced tools and technologies such as 3D scanning, CAD/CAM systems, machining equipment, and 3D printing solutions.
  • Develop and implement project and product roadmaps in collaboration with stakeholders across breweries, engineering teams, and suppliers.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations for engineering projects and solutions.
  • Review and manage project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and financial accountability.
  • Maintain and prioritize project backlogs and ensure timely delivery of engineering solutions.
  • Monitor project progress, product development, and delivery timelines across multiple initiatives.
  • Oversee financial performance, costing, and budget optimization for ZEC operations.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between internal departments and external partners.
  • Plan, organize, and manage resources, ensuring effective execution of engineering projects.
  • Provide strategic input into the short-, medium-, and long-term ZEC operational strategy.
  • Ensure alignment of engineering activities with organizational goals and performance KPIs.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects across different sites with effective delegation and coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, engineering processes, and operational best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation in reverse engineering and fabrication processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in brewing, packaging, or FMCG manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience in solving technical engineering problems with practical and effective solutions.
  • Strong background in reverse engineering and fabrication shop management.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D scanning, CAD/CAM design, machining (lathe and CNC), and 3D printing technologies.
  • Strong project management and multi-site coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong process orientation and adherence to engineering and safety standards.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proactive, results-driven mindset with a bias for action.
