Job Description
AB InBev Africa is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Checker-1 to support warehouse and logistics operations by ensuring accurate stock handling, verification, and documentation. This role is essential in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting distribution processes, and ensuring compliance with company safety, quality, and operational standards within a fast-paced supply chain environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for physically checking and verifying stock during loading and offloading, managing inventory records, supporting dispatch and receiving processes, and ensuring adherence to stock control systems. Working within warehouse and logistics teams, the Checker-1 will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, product quality, and accurate inventory tracking across the supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Count, check, verify, dispatch, and receive stock through physical verification of goods loaded and offloaded.
- Ensure accurate stock movement by verifying quantities during loading and unloading processes.
- Maintain adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in line with safety requirements.
- Maintain proper warehouse housekeeping and 5S standards.
- Ensure stock rotation principles (FEFO – First Expiry First Out) are followed.
- Conduct quality checks on packaging and stock condition before loading.
- Perform accurate daily stock counts using handheld digital devices.
- Generate and resolve inventory variance reports and discrepancies.
- Record and process all stock movements including transfers, breakages, and issues in ERP systems.
- Verify all documentation related to stock movements and ensure accuracy.
- Support loading and unloading of vehicles and production line operations.
- Communicate effectively with logistics, inventory, commercial, and security teams.
- Ensure load plans are properly executed and signed by all relevant parties.
- Record and verify returned stock prior to unloading.
- Participate in investigations of stock deviations and recommend improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of beer age, FIFO/FEFO compliance, and inventory reports.
- Support POS reporting and ensure data accuracy.
- Adhere to digital stock management systems and reporting tools.
Qualifications:
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Valid forklift driver license.
- Experience operating a double handler forklift is an advantage.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to use digital stock devices.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to adapt to changing operational demands.
